The Queen needed to ‘protect’ the royal family amid Prince Andrew’s civil case

Lawyer and commentator Caroline de Russo says the Queen needs to “protect the institution” of the royal family from Prince Andrew’s civil case.

It comes as the Queen strips Prince Andrew of his military titles and royal patronage.

Prince Andrew is facing a civil case in the United States over allegations of sexual assault of a 17-year-old woman.

“At the end of the day, the Queen is the head of a foundation,” De Russo told Sky News host Caleb Bond.

“And if those measures are going to go ahead, and they seem to do now, well, I think the Queen probably gave Andrew a lot more room and maybe a little more than he had hoped.”
