Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson tests positive for COVID-19 – POLITICO

On Friday, a spokeswoman for the Swedish Prime Minister, Magdalena Andersson, announced that the results of the Corona virus test had come back positive.

The Prime Minister has tested positive for COVID-19 in a rapid test. The press secretary of a Swedish news agency said she is following current recommendations and will be doing her work from home. Anderson is said to be feeling better, given the circumstances.

Sweden implemented new measures to combat the massive spike in COVID-19 cases due to the Omicron variant this week, including vaccination certificate requirements for juveniles over 50 people.

In November 2021, Anderson made international headlines after resigning just seven hours after being elected as the country’s first female prime minister. She suffered a budget defeat in Parliament that day but was re-elected a few days later.
