The last millionaire in the lottery for Saskatchewan received his prize.
Dustin Kiefer said he was heading to a meeting on January 10 when he saw that a ticket purchased in Saskatoon matched all seven numbers in the Lotto Max lottery on January 7.

Keifer sat through the longest encounter of his life after checking his ticket and discovering he was the $50 million winner.
“I’ll be honest. I didn’t hear anything said at that meeting. Not a single thing,” he said upon receiving the award on the same day.
He called his wife after the meeting to tell her the news.
“We were completely shocked,” he said. “We still – I still can’t believe it!”
Kiefer said winning $50 million is “surreal” and that he plans to be smart about the money.

One thing Keifer said they want to do is travel.
“We were supposed to go to Italy two years ago, but then COVID hit. It would be great to get there one day.”
An espresso machine is also on the menu.
“When I told my dad about it, I said, ‘I’m going to buy an espresso maker,'” Kiefer said. “It just popped into mind.”
Kiefer’s win is one of the many recent big lottery wins in Saskatoon.
In October 2021, Matthew Poppel received a Lotto Max prize of $55 million.
A little over a month later, two Saskatoon residents took home a $2 million Western 649 prize and a $1 million Lotto 6-49 prize, respectively.
