ABUJA – The death toll from gun raids has risen to 200 this week in Zamfara state, northwest Nigeria. A spokeswoman for Humanitarian Affairs Minister Saadia Omar Farouk told AFP.
“More than 200 people have been buried as a result of the bandit attacks. We are also very concerned about the displaced people who are fleeing in their hundreds from their communities,” he added.
