The performance piece “Thaw” is part of the Sydney Festival, and over the next three days a guitarist will perform at her head for ten hours a day.
“They’re out in the Sydney summer sun on a block of frozen ice, so it takes a long time to train them on that not only from an air safety perspective but also to affect the body perspective,” said technical director Joshua Thompson. 9News said.
As the hot days extend, the huge mass of ice will melt, aiming to start a conversation about what’s happening to glaciers around the world.
