Ghiaccio: Europei Artistico, Grassl argento nel singolo uomini – Sport

At the European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, Daniel Grassl rewrote the history of figure skating in blue. The 19-year-old Fiam Oro talent, in the third of the four competition days of the Continental Review, regains three places compared to fifth in the short program and takes home a historic silver for Italy with the new National. It rose to 274.48 points.
For the man from Merano, Lorenzo Magri’s pupil, this is the first podium of his European Championship after fourth place in 2020.
For the tri-color movement, on the other hand, the Grassl silver outperforms the brilliant bronze that Matteo Rizzo won in 2019: like Daniel Only Samuel Contesti, the silver at Helsinki 2009, and in the early 1950s, Carlo Fassi, capable of winning silver to two golds. Historical references outlining the scope of the Grassl project.
On the ice of the Estonian capital, the blue today made a show: for him the second free day of the day at 182.73 – a new Italian record in this segment, behind only Russian Kondratiuk (187.50), who later won the race. Grassl was impressed by the cleanliness of a program that is very rich from a technical point of view with three quadruple jumps, which also appears well under the technical profile. On the podium, behind him, and therefore the bronze, was Latvia Vasilijfs with a score of 272.08 points.
