Gabon’s leading members Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Lemina contracted “negativity” a week after the result of the anti-Covid test: the two were unable to participate in the first appearance of the “Panthers” team in the African Cup. This was announced by the Gabonese Football Association.
Arsenal striker Aubameyang, who is also the team captain, has already trained with his teammates. However, team coach Patrice Neveu has tested positive, again according to the Federation. Gabon won its opening match 1-0 on Monday against Comoros, and the next two contenders in Group C will be Ghana (tomorrow) and Morocco (18 January).
