Djokovic visa saga ‘sheds light’ on the ‘great complexity’ of Australia’s visa system

David Prince of Kinslor Prince Lawyers says the Novak Djokovic visa saga “sheds light” on the “great complexity” of the Australian visa immigration system.

It comes after Mr Djokovic’s visa was revoked for the second time by Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, who exercised his controversial ministerial powers.

“It also highlights the important ministerial discretion and the fact that a decision can be made, and the minister can … step in and come up with a different view,” Prince told Sky News host Caleb Bond.

“I think that’s probably something that is quite remarkable for the audience and that is important, I think.”
