The state has recorded 34,836 more cases and 18 more deaths from Covid as the number of active cases swells to 240,000.
Victoria recorded 34,836 new cases of COVID-19 and 18 deaths in the past 24 hours.
There are now 976 injured in Victorian hospitals, with 112 in intensive care and 30 on ventilators.
Victoria’s pre-Omicron peak for Covid hospital admissions was 851 in October when the state was battling an increase in Delta infections.
However, the number dwindles at 2,383 people in NSW hospitalized with Covid.
More than 93 percent of Victoria’s eligible residents are fully vaccinated and there are 239,396 active cases in the state.
A total of 62,445 PCR tests were performed on Wednesday and 24,071 vaccines have been administered at state centers.
