Caspian Sea has huge potential for wind energy – Azerbaijani Deputy Energy Minister (VIDEO)

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Energy Minister, Elnur Sultanov, said in an interview with Trend that the Caspian Sea has huge potential for wind energy.

In the interview, the Deputy Minister spoke about the current capabilities of the energy sector in Azerbaijan, the construction of wind and solar power plants, as well as the ongoing work to modernize the electricity sector.

“Attracting foreign investments in the field of renewable energy will bring great benefits to our Azerbaijan. Also, in the future it is planned to implement large projects in the liberated lands of Azerbaijan, in particular in eastern Zangazur,” Sultanov said.

In particular, during the interview, the details of the project of the solar power plant to be built in Gabriel were discussed with BP.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Energy spoke about the potential of wind energy in the Caspian Sea, and said that serious work is underway in this direction. Issues of meeting citizens’ needs for electricity after installing solar panels and wind energy were also raised.
